Mingei
International Museum's Collectors' Gallery presents a
special showing and sale of indigo textiles. Produced by
CODIO Indigo Life, a Korean company, these earth friendly
products blend the beauty, harmony and simplicity of Asian
design with the natural characteristics of indigo -- an
organic dye with universal appeal.
A 1000 years of indigo dyeing tradition in Korea, China and
Japan are reflected in luxurious home textiles, wall
coverings, and clothing made from artful blends of cotton
silk, linen silk and wool silk.
Indigo -- with shades from deep, vibrant blue to clear,
crystal blue, gives a depth of hue that has pleased people
for centuries. CODIO employs this ancient art of indigo
dyeing in creating beautiful 21st century textiles.
